Not a fan of the word grit but I like some of the concepts. I think the word has too much of a connotation with toughness that may put some people off and lead to conclusions like “I just wasn’t born with that in me”.

To me, the important part of what is being called “grit”, is the self-discipline to establish good habits and continue to work at things even after you get bored.

It really doesn’t require toughness or some dramatic overcoming of adversity, instead it is more about putting in consistent effort towards your goals on a daily basis.

That’s something everyone do no matter what they were “born with”.
